Diaphragm valves are two-directional, on-off throttle valves. It acts as a flow control device which either isolate, regulate or obstruct fluid flow. This kind of valve is used to control flow of liquids, gases, and semi-solid substances such as slurries.
Weir-type Diaphragm valve : These types of valves are popularly used in industries for regulating fluid flow, even at low flow rates. Weir Diaphragm valves are suitable for handling gases and clean, homogeneous liquids. They are also capable of handling corrosive, hazardous, and abrasive substances.
Straight through Diaphragm valve: This kind of diaphragm valves can maintain two-directional flow. straight through Diaphragm valves are used for minimizing obstruction of the flow and allows fluid movement into a direct path. These valves are good for handling semi-solid media such as slurries, sludge’s, and viscous fluids.
For best result while using a Diaphragm valve, the Operating Pressure should be between 0 – 10 bar and the temperature of the Medium should be with in the range of -20 - 150 °C.
Diaphragm Valves are generally used in Food & Beverages, Dairy, Chemical and Petrochemical, Water and Sewage Treatment, and Pulp and Paper Production Industry.
